Data Dynamics, Inc. provides StorageX Administrator and Data Management training programs with regularly scheduled classes for StorageX administrators, Architects System Administrators and Developers depending on the area of interest.

  • StorageX Management Portal: This training program introduces students to the planning, installation, and configuration of Analytics, including the implementation of Analytics operational features such as Discover, Analyze, Archive and Retrival. This class is tailored to give the Management, Storage Administrator to better understand their distributed file system and then decide on to what has to be done with the unorganized data they have in their environments.
  • StorageX Migration Administrator: This training program introduces students to the planning, installation, and configuration of StorageX, including the implementation of StorageX operational features such as Phased and Archival Migration policies, Migration Projects and Basic DFS Management. This class is tailored to storage administrators primarily interested in using StorageX to implement NAS migrations.
  • StorageX DFS Administrator: This training program introduces students to the planning, installation, and configuration of StorageX, including the implementation of StorageX operational features such as DFS Management, which includes Namespace Availability, Namespace Backup and Restore, Disaster Recovery, and Replication policy configuration. This class is tailored to Storage and System administrators who are interested in using StorageX to both migrate file data and manage their file environment with Microsoft’s Distributed File System.

All the above mentioned programs consists of a series of virtual, web-based, instructor-led classes. Each session provides students with individual hands-on access to the Data Dynamics Virtual Training Lab (VTL), which allows students to practice each of the skills acquired in class in a simulated environment.

Target Audience

The StorageX Administrator training programs are designed for data and system administrators and architects who are involved in the design, deployment, and management of network attached storage and/or the management of environments using Microsoft’s Distributed File System.

Course Duration

  • The StorageX Management Portal training program consists of 3 three-hour virtual training sessions. Each session includes both lectures and hands-on labs.
  • The StorageX Migration Administrator training program consists of 3 three-hour virtual training sessions. Each session includes both lectures and hands-on labs.
  • The StorageX DFS Administrator training program consists of 3 three-hour virtual training sessions. Each session includes both lectures and hands-on labs.

Course Objectives

After completing the StorageX Management Portal training program, attendees should be able to:

  • Identify the benefits and features of StorageX Management Portal.
  • Plan for and install StorageX Management Portal in an enterprise data center file storage environment.
  • Describe the benefits of using Management Portal in the enterprise.
  • Configure Scans to gather data, Build Analysis Dataset or Query and Archive the data.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, diagnostic, and maintenance tasks.

After completing the StorageX Migration Administrator training program, attendees should be able to:

  • Identify the benefits and features of StorageX
  • Plan for and install StorageX in an enterprise data center file storage environment
  • Describe the benefits of a DFS namespace and create and manage DFS namespaces using StorageX
  • Configure policies that facilitate file data movement and management between heterogeneous network-attached storage (NAS) devices
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, diagnostic, and maintenance tasks

After completing the StorageX DFS Administrator training program, attendees should be able to:

  • Identify the benefits and features of StorageX
  • Plan and install StorageX in an enterprise data center file storage environment
  • Upgrade and convert a legacy DFS namespace
  • Create a new DFS namespace and configure supporting Namespace Backup policies to make the namespace highly available
  • Create Namespace Availability policies for DFS namespaces
  • Perform manual and scheduled backups of DFS namespaces
  • Configure Disaster Recovery policies to provide business continuity in your file environment
  • Configure policies that facilitate file data movement and management between heterogeneous network-attached storage (NAS) devices
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, diagnostic, and maintenance tasks

Prerequisites

Attendees should be familiar with the basic concepts and operations of CIFS and NFS file, folder, and share/export management. Attendees should also be familiar with Microsoft Distributed File Systems (DFS) and have a general understanding of and experience with enterprise storage software and hardware.

Requirements

Internet connection and browser, as well as a phone or VOIP headset.
